Alexis Douglas

Alexis Douglas is a dedicated Program Coordinator at HCAP, where she plays a crucial role in creating and implementing the Michigan Nursing Home Workforce Stabilization grant. This collaborative effort involves the Michigan Department of Human Services, employers, and SEIU Healthcare Michigan, aiming to stabilize and improve the nursing home workforce in the state. 

 

In addition to her professional role at HCAP, Alexis is an executive board member and chapter institute chair for the Detroit Chapter of the New Leaders Council, where she volunteers her time and expertise. She has served on the Southeast Council of the Alternatives to Violence Project since 2016 and was named a Peace Fellow in 2020 for her impactful work. 

 

In 2018, Alexis worked as the field director and treasurer for the campaign to elect Charlesetta Wilson for state representative, showcasing her skills in political organizing and leadership. 

 

Alexis is also the founder and executive director of R&R Village, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping Black and American Descendants of Slavery heal from systemic racism. She facilitates transformative retreats and workshops, employing a holistic approach that includes ancestor veneration, ritual, and self-awareness practices. 

 

A graduate of Central Michigan University with a Bachelor's degree in Integrated Leadership, Alexis has been a speaker at numerous esteemed institutions, including Wayne State University and the Renaissance Unity Spiritual Center. Her professional journey is driven by a profound desire to help others live their best lives, drawing from her extensive experience as a spiritual counselor, workshop facilitator, and transformational speaker. Alexis's dedication to personal and community healing is unwavering, making her a respected leader and advocate in her field.
