Together, the H-CAP EA network designs and delivers worker-centered, industry-responsive training, programs and employee benefits to more than 720,000 covered workers throughout the healthcare sector, including home care, nursing facilities, hospitals/health systems, and behavioral health.
The EA network of labor-management training partnerships (LMTPs) collectively brings healthcare labor and management stakeholders together to focus on industry-specific workforce development needs and collaborate on delivering innovative worker-centered programming. Our work focuses on creating opportunities for family-sustaining careers in healthcare and supporting access to good union jobs for women, Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC), and immigrant workers.
As a network, we envision a healthcare industry that provides quality jobs for all workers and quality care to all service recipients, in which workers of all genders, races, ethnicities and backgrounds can access equitable career advancement opportunities, prosper and thrive at all levels, from entry-level to advanced specialty roles.
Our unique labor-management partnership approach to achieving our vision brings diverse stakeholders to the table to solve ever-evolving industry challenges and meet the needs of workers, employers, and communities along the way. We collaborate to address occupational segregation in healthcare and build toward transformative, systemic changes in care delivery, training and education across sectors.
Internally, the nonprofit EA organization facilitates regular cross-organizational learning, leadership and staff development activities for network affiliates. The EA is governed by LMTP Executive Directors, with an advisory committee composed of representatives from each sector of the healthcare industry.
